Vision Surveys (QLD) has been operating in Queensland for over a decade, with the three Directors having a combined local presence of over 50 years.
They provide comprehensive Mining, Engineering, Cadastral Land Surveying and Town Planning Consulting services across Queensland.
About the Role
$155,000 to $165,000 Salary
Vision Surveys is seeking a full-time Senior Surveyor to join our team based at our Rockhampton office.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced surveying professional to take a lead role in delivering a diverse range of surveying projects.
You will act as a technical leader within the business, overseeing project delivery, maintaining strong client relationships, and mentoring junior team members while ensuring high-quality outcomes across all surveying activities.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver surveying projects from commencement through to completion, ensuring quality, accuracy and efficiency
Interpret project specifications, plans and client requirements to ensure compliance with technical and legal standards
Plan, allocate and coordinate survey activities to meet project objectives and deadlines
Operate and maintain surveying equipment including GPS, total stations, digital levels and associated technology
Process and analyse survey data, producing high-quality plans, reports, models and spatial data outputs
Conduct quality assurance reviews and verification of survey data prior to delivery
Liaise with clients, project managers, engineers, contractors and stakeholders to support successful project delivery
Prepare proposals, provide project updates and maintain strong client relationships
Mentor and support junior surveyors, sharing technical knowledge and best practice standards
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, Australian Standards, company procedures and safety requirements
Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required
Bachelor Degree in Surveying or a related discipline
Registered Surveyor with the Surveyors Board of Queensland (SBQ), or actively working towards endorsement
Minimum 8 years' surveying experience across cadastral, construction and general surveying projects
Strong knowledge of Australian surveying standards, legislation and industry best practices
Demonstrated experience leading projects and managing client relationships
Proficiency with surveying equipment, CAD and survey software such as BricsCAD, Magnet and/or 12D
Robust quality assurance, reporting and documentation skills
Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment
Current unrestricted driver's licence
