In this role, you will be directly involved in bidding generation assets into the NEM, analysing market outcomes, and assessing the operational and financial performance of our solar and battery assets.This is an excellent opportunity for an electricity industry professional, currently working as a Market Analyst or Trade Analyst, who is keen to deepen their exposure to battery storage and spot market operations as part of Australia's energy transition.The role includes shift‐based work aligned with peak NEM operating hours, including some non‐business days, reflecting the nature of real‐time market operations.Key Responsibilities:Market OperationsContribute to the development of bidding strategies for solar and battery assetsExecute bidding strategies in the NEMSupport dispatch oversight, optimisation and ancillary services participation for BESS and solar assetsMarket & Asset AnalysisAnalyse NEM spot market outcomes and competitor behaviourReview operational and financial performance of solar and battery assetsProvide insights and recommendations to inform future spot market strategiesAnalyse forward electricity and renewable certificate marketsResearch industry, regulatory and market developments impacting the NEMDevelop and maintain analytical tools,



models and datasets to support spot trading and decision‐makingWork closely with Operations & Maintenance and Finance teams to support optimal commercial and operational outcomesPrerequisites:QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Science or a related disciplineExperience2–3 years' experience in the electricity industryDemonstrated experience in data analysis or market analyticsTechnical SkillsWorking knowledge of coding and analytical tools such as Python, SQL and/or RStrong quantitative and problem‐solving capabilityPersonal AttributesCurious and proactive in understanding market dynamicsConfident communicator with strong interpersonal skillsComfortable working in a fast‐paced, operationally driven environmentWhy Join Vena Energy?
