Shape the future of one of Australia's most unique coastal cities.As ourSenior Bridge and Structures Engineer, you'll play a key role in the long-term planning, management and improvement of Lake Macquarie's bridge and structure assets.
Working within the Infrastructure Asset Management Team, you'll help ensure our bridges, major culverts, retaining walls, pedestrian bridges and other civil structures remain safe, reliable and sustainable for our growing community.This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineering professional who enjoys combining technical expertise, strategic asset management and stakeholder engagement to deliver meaningful infrastructure outcomes.This exciting role will:Lead the planning and management of Council's bridge and structure assetsDevelop asset management plans, lifecycle models and renewal programs that support informed investment decisionsProvide specialist engineering advice on bridge and structural asset performance, risk and lifecycle managementAssess existing and proposed bridge and structure assets to determine future requirementsDevelop and manage forward capital works and renewal programs aligned with Council prioritiesProvide senior technical leadership, mentoring and peer review within the teamWork collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve effective community outcomesSupport legislative compliance,



risk management and reporting requirements relating to Council's bridge and structure assetsRead the position statementhereand learn more about this exciting chance.LET'S HEAR ABOUT YOUYou are an experienced civil or structural engineer with a strong background in bridge and structural infrastructure asset management.
You enjoy solving complex problems, making evidence-based decisions and influencing positive outcomes through collaboration and technical expertise.You can confidently manage competing priorities, communicate complex technical information in plain English and build productive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.To be successful, you will bring:A degree qualification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related disciplineExperience in bridge and civil structures inspection, assessment, maintenance, renewal or asset managementKnowledge of bridge and transport structure standards, including AS ****, Austroads Guide to Bridge Technology or TfNSW standardsExperience applying asset management, risk management and lifecycle planning principlesStrong stakeholder engagement, communication and negotiation skillsExperience preparing technical documentation, reports and engineering adviceA Class C Driver's LicenceLET'S REVEAL THE PERKSThis position provides:Competitive salary from $118,937 to $138,224 per year + 12% superannuationEnterprise Agreement pay increases applyCommencing salary set in line with skills and experience, with annual reviews available to support movement through the salary range35-hour working week, with flexible conditionsLong service leave after 5 yearsEducation assistanceTraining and development opportunitiesCorporate fitness program from as little as $8 per weekPlus many more great employee benefits
