Yarra Valley Grammar is seeking an accomplished Head of People and Culture to join its Executive team and establish a contemporary, strategic People and Culture function that supports the School's workforce, culture and organisational priorities.
As the School's inaugural Head of People and Culture, you will have the opportunity to build and shape the function from the ground up, influencing how Yarra Valley Grammar approaches workforce planning, organisational structure, leadership capability and culture for the future.

The Role
Working closely with the Principal and Executive,
the Head of People and Culture will establish and lead a contemporary People and Culture function, with responsibility for the full employee experience and the systems, structures and practices that support it.
You will provide strategic direction and hands‐on leadership across:
People & Culture strategy and workforce planning
Organisational design, transformation and change
Culture, engagement and employee wellbeing
Leadership capability and succession planning
Talent acquisition, development and retention
Industrial and employee relations, enterprise bargaining, policy and compliance
HR systems, analytics, remuneration and workforce insights
As a member of the Executive team, you will be a trusted adviser to the Principal and senior leaders, bringing contemporary thinking, sound judgement and a strong people lens to organisational decision‐making.
This is a role for a leader who can see the big picture while remaining connected to the practical realities of a complex organisation.

About You
You will be an experienced People and Culture leader who can set strategy,
translate it into action and build trust across a complex organisation.
You will bring significant senior HR leadership experience, with credibility across organisational design, workforce planning, industrial relations, talent, leadership development and culture.
Importantly, you will be someone who listens, builds trust and works collaboratively; someone able to navigate complexity, influence at an executive level and bring people with you through change.
Ideally, you will bring:
10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience
A tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
Proven experience developing and implementing organisation‐wide people strategies
Strong expertise in employment law and industrial relations
Experience leading organisational design and significant change
Strong analytical, financial and workforce planning capability
Highly developed communication, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills
A genuine commitment to building engaged, high‐performing and people‐centred workplaces
