COMMERCIAL ADVISOR - MAJOR INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTTownsville | Office Based | Monday to Friday | Gawara Baya Wind FarmSymal Infrastructure is delivering the Gawara Baya Wind Farm, a major renewable energy infrastructure project in North Queensland.
We are looking for an experienced Commercial Advisor to join the project team and play a key role in the commercial and contractual management of this significant project.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Contracts Administrator looking to take the next step in their career and work on a major infrastructure project with genuine commercial complexity.About The RoleReporting into the project commercial team, you will support the management of both upstream and downstream contracts, working closely with Project Engineers, Superintendents, Scheduling, Legal and senior project stakeholders.You will be responsible for ensuring contractual obligations are understood and managed, commercial risks are identified early, and variations, claims, payments and contractual documentation are effectively controlled throughout the project lifecycle.Key ResponsibilitiesUpstream / Head ContractAnalyse head contract terms and conditions and ensure contractual complianceTrack key milestones, deliverables and contractual obligationsManage variations, extensions of time and other contract modificationsPrepare and submit payment claims in accordance with contract requirementsManage EOT, prolongation,
disruption and other commercial claims in conjunction with the SchedulerMaintain accurate and comprehensive contractual recordsSupport internal and external audits and contractual compliance requirementsDownstream / Subcontractor & Supplier ContractsManage the documentation and execution of downstream contracts in conjunction with Legal and Project EngineersReview approved subcontractor and supplier payment claimsManage change orders, variations and amendments in consultation with Senior Project Engineers and Project EngineersTrack costs and assist with payment-related disputesEnsure required insurances, warranties and contractual documentation are in placeEnsure downstream contracts comply with legal, regulatory and company requirementsManage contract close-outs and terminations where requiredMaintain accurate records of contracts, amendments, correspondence and payment certificatesPrepare for and support internal and external auditsAbout YouWe are looking for a commercially minded Contracts Administrator / Commercial professional who enjoys working across both the contractual and operational sides of a major project.4-5 years' experience in Contracts Administration or a similar commercial roleExperience working within civil construction, infrastructure, renewable energy or major projectsStrong understanding of head and downstream contractsExperience managing variations, claims,
EOTs and payment processesStrong commercial and contractual awarenessExcellent attention to detail and document management skillsThe ability to work collaboratively with Project Engineers, Legal, Scheduling and project leadershipDiploma or equivalent qualification in Construction, Building, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline is preferredWhy join Symal Infrastructure?
