Siemens Energy is seeking a Portfolio Sales Professional to join the Gas Services team based in North Ryde, Sydney.
Reporting to the Portfolio Sales Manager, this role is responsible for driving sales growth across the Control & Digitalisation Solutions portfolio within the power generation market.
The successful candidate will develop and expand relationships with existing installed-base customers while identifying new opportunities for modernization, upgrades, digitalisation, lifecycle services, and control system solutions.
This role combines technical expertise, commercial ownership, and customer engagement, requiring a strong understanding of industrial control systems, digitalisation technologies, and the operational challenges faced by power generation customers.
Key responsibilities
Develop and execute sales strategies for Control & Digitalisation solutions across the power generation market
Build and maintain solid relationships with existing installed-base customers and identify opportunities for upgrades, modernisation, and lifecycle services
Evaluate customer needs and develop technically and commercially compelling solutions
Generate and manage a robust sales pipeline through proactive business development activities
Lead customer discussions, technical presentations, and commercial negotiations
Prepare and negotiate proposals including technical scope, bills of materials, labour estimates, pricing, and commercial terms
Collaborate with engineering, service, project management, and product management teams to develop customer-focused solutions
Monitor market developments, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities in digitalisation, automation, decarbonisation, and power generation
Maintain accurate sales forecasts, opportunity tracking, and CRM reporting
Deliver assigned sales targets and contribute to regional business growth objectives
About you
Proven experience in technical sales, account management, business development,



or solution sales within power generation, industrial automation, controls, digitalisation, or related industrial markets
Demonstrated experience carrying a sales target, managing a sales pipeline, and closing technically complex opportunities
Strong knowledge of Control & Digitalisation technologies including DCS (Distributed Control Systems), SCADA, PLC, Power Management Systems (PMS), Building Management Systems (BMS), Industrial Automation Solutions, or Digitalisation Platforms
Experience preparing technical and commercial proposals, tender responses, cost estimates, and customer presentations
Strong commercial acumen with proven contract negotiation and customer engagement skills
Ability to build trusted relationships with plant operators, maintenance teams, technical stakeholders, EPCs, utilities, and end-user customers
A solid understanding of the power generation, industrial, energy, or oil & gas sectors
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Willingness to travel regularly across Australia and occasionally within the Asia-Pacific region
Highly Preferred: Experience gained with industrial automation, controls, or digitalisation solution providers.
