Our client is a well-established not-for-profit organisation based in Melbourne's northern suburbs.
Providing a broad range of essential services to the local community, the organisation is committed to making a positive difference to the health and wellbeing of the people it supports.
With a strong focus on collaboration, inclusivity and delivering quality services, the organisation offers a supportive working environment where employees can contribute to a meaningful cause.
An opportunity has become available for an experienced Accounts Receivable Officer to join their finance team, with excellent flexibility around working arrangements.
The Position
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this position will take responsibility for a broad range of accounts receivable activities, including billing, receipting, reconciliations and credit management.
The role involves working across multiple financial and client management systems, with a particular emphasis on ensuring accuracy across complex billing and reconciliation processes.
The position will also provide occasional support to the accounts payable function.
Key responsibilities will include:
Managing accounts receivable processes, including invoicing, receipting and payment allocations.
Processing complex billing transactions and reconciling invoices and payments across multiple systems.
Preparing end-of-month aged debtor reports and supporting balance sheet reconciliations.
Undertaking credit control and debt collection activities, maintaining a professional and personable approach with customers.

Processing banking transactions, including manual receipting and reconciliations.
Importing billing data from client management systems into the finance system.
Investigating and resolving billing discrepancies, payment queries and reconciliation issues.
Providing occasional accounts payable support, including invoice processing and payment-related activities.
Maintaining accurate financial records and identifying opportunities to improve existing processes.
Why Apply?
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accounts Receivable Officer seeking a position that offers flexibility, variety and the opportunity to work for a purpose-driven organisation.
Some of the key benefits include:
Flexible working arrangements, with the option to work across either four or five days per week.
Excellent hybrid flexibility, requiring just two days in the office and three days working from home for a full-time arrangement.
Northern suburbs location, ideal for candidates living locally or seeking to avoid commuting into the CBD.
Opportunity to join an established not-for-profit organisation making a genuine difference in the community.
A wide-ranging position offering exposure to complex billing,

reconciliations and multiple financial systems.
Supportive and collaborative finance team.
The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Officer with strong technical skills, excellent attention to detail and a friendly, approachable communication style.
Ideally, you will demonstrate:
Strong experience in accounts receivable, including billing, receipting, reconciliations and debtor management.
Experience working with complex billing arrangements and reconciling information across multiple systems.
Good Excel skills, including the ability to work with pivot tables, VLOOKUPs and large volumes of financial data.
Confidence using multiple financial systems, with a tech-savvy approach and the ability to learn new software quickly.
A personable and professional communication style, particularly when managing customer queries and collection activities.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy and the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
Some exposure to accounts payable processes would be highly regarded.
Experience within the not-for-profit or community services sector would be advantageous but is not essential.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities with minimal supervision.
Above all, we are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in producing accurate work and is comfortable navigating a position involving both transactional processing and more complex reconciliations.
