We are looking for a motivated and experienced Accountant to join our team in Laverton North.
The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day accounting functions, taxation compliance, payroll-related obligations, financial reporting and liaising with external advisers and government authorities.
This role would suit someone who has strong attention to detail, understands Australian accounting and taxation requirements, and is confident working independently.Key ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping functionsPrepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS)Manage PAYG withholding and related reporting requirementsProcess and reconcile superannuation obligationsPrepare and manage payroll tax requirementsAssist with land tax matters and compliancePerform bank,



balance sheet and general ledger reconciliationsMaintain accurate accounting records and documentationProcess accounts payable and accounts receivable as requiredAssist with month-end and year-end accounting proceduresAbout YouMinimum 2 years' experience in an accounting or similar roleAt least a Diploma of Accounting or equivalent qualificationGood working knowledge of Australian accounting and taxation requirementsPractical knowledge of superannuation, PAYG, BAS, payroll tax and land taxStrong knowledge and hands-on experience using MYOBGood understanding of GST, general ledger, reconciliations and financial reportingExcellent attention to detail and accuracyStrong organisational and time-management skillsAbility to work independently and meet deadlinesStrong written and verbal communication skills$70,000 per annum + superannuationBenefitsStable and growing businessSupportive working environmentOpportunity to take ownership of accounting and compliance functionsOpportunity for professional development and growth opportunities
