The Move Better Project
Brisbane
We're looking for a seriously good Graphic Designer to join our team at The Move Better Project (TMBP) in Redland Bay.
We live in the fitness world.
We create apparel for gyms, athletes, fitness communities and some of the biggest fitness events in Australia.
Your day could be anything from building a clean typographic back print for a local CrossFit gym, to developing a streetwear‐inspired graphic, event merchandise or an entire apparel collection.
This is a fast‐moving creative role.
You'll often be given a logo, a rough idea, a few references and a loose brief - and we need you to turn that into something people genuinely want to wear.
This is not a remote role.
You'll be working with our team full‐time from TMBP HQ in Redland Bay, QLD.
About the role
What you'll be doing
Creating original apparel graphics across fitness, training, events and community
Developing strong typography, layouts, logos and graphic treatments
Turning loose customer briefs and reference images into finished concepts
Creating everything from simple, clean designs through to more illustrative and streetwear‐inspired graphics
Building merchandise ranges and apparel collections
Preparing production‐ready artwork for print and manufacturing
Working across multiple briefs and projects each day
Collaborating closely with our sales, customer and production teams
Keeping an eye on what's happening across fitness, streetwear, sport and apparel - and bringing fresh ideas into TMBP
About you
First and foremost, you're a bloody good designer.
You have a strong eye for typography, composition and layout.
You understand what makes a graphic look good on a garment - not just on a computer screen.
You're comfortable taking an idea and running with it.
You work quickly, take feedback well and don't need a perfectly written creative brief before you can start designing.
And importantly, you get fitness culture.
CrossFit, HYROX, functional fitness, running, lifting,
training - whatever your thing is, we want someone who understands the world our customers live in.
You'll also have:
Robust Adobe Illustrator skills
Strong Photoshop skills
Excellent typography and layout ability
An understanding of contemporary apparel, fitness and streetwear design
The ability to manage multiple briefs and work at pace
A great attitude and low ego
The ability to work collaboratively in a small, fast‐moving team
A genuine interest in fitness and training culture
The ability to work full‐time from our Redland Bay office
Previous apparel or merchandise experience is highly regarded, but not essential.
For us, design ability, attitude and cultural fit matter more than having the perfect CV.
If you're a great designer who trains, understands the culture and think you'd fit what we're building at TMBP, we want to see your work.
Before you apply
We care more about your work than your CV.
Please include a link to your portfolio with your application.
We want to see your design style, typography, apparel graphics, illustration and any work you've created across fitness, sport or streetwear.
And if fitness is part of your world, tell us about it!
Portfolio required with application.
Be careful - Don't provide your bank or credit card details when applying for jobs.
Don't transfer any money or complete suspicious online surveys.
If you see something suspicious, report this job ad .
