Role Description The Senior Communications Consultant is a full-time, on-site role based in Sydney, NSW.
This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategic communications plans for energy sector clients, including renewables, transmission, and clean tech organizations.
Day-to-day activities include drafting and refining press releases, media pitches, and executive communications; managing stakeholder engagement for major projects; and advising clients on reputation and crisis management.
The role also involves coordinating and overseeing project timelines, collaborating with cross-functional client teams, and measuring and reporting on the impact of communications campaigns.




The consultant will mentor junior team members, contribute to new business proposals, and help strengthen Elexia's relationships with key media and industry stakeholders.
Qualifications
Strong skills in Communication and Corporate Communications, with the ability to tailor messages to diverse stakeholders.Proficiency in Press Releases and media relations, including drafting, editing, and distributing content to targeted outlets.Experience in Strategic Communications, including campaign planning, stakeholder engagement, and reputation management.Demonstrated Project Management abilities, managing multiple client projects, timelines, and deliverables effectively.Proven experience in public relations, media management, and crisis communications within complex or highly regulated sectors, ideally energy.Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills, with attention to detail and a focus on measurable outcomes.Ability to build and maintain skilled relationships with media, clients, and internal stakeholders.Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field; advanced qualifications are an advantage.Prior experience in consultancy or agency environments, and familiarity with the Australian media and energy landscape.
