Are you a skilled Cloud Engineer ready to architect, secure, and scale the infrastructure powering cardiac diagnostics for patients across Australia and the globe?
Location: Camberwell (4 days on-site)About the RoleWe're looking for a hands-on AWS Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and secure CardioScan's cloud infrastructure.
You'll ensure our systems are highly available, scalable, and performant - playing a critical role in keeping the technology backbone running that delivers life-changing cardiac insights to over 800,000 patients each year.The ideal candidate brings strong AWS expertise, solid networking fundamentals, and a security-first mindset, with FortiGate experience and automation skills considered a real advantage.The RoleDesign, deploy, and maintain scalable AWS cloud infrastructure across EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Lambda, and CloudFrontImplement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or similar tooling, with a focus on cost, performance, and scalabilityImplement AWS security best practices including IAM, Security Groups, NACLs, GuardDuty, and Security HubDesign and manage AWS network architecture — VPCs, subnets, VPNs, load balancers, and hybrid connectivityAdminister FortiGate firewalls including policies, IPSec VPNs, and threat protectionDevelop and maintain automation workflows to support CI/CD pipelines, provisioning, and operational efficiencyManage SSL/TLS certificate lifecycle, including ACM and renewal automationImplement monitoring and alerting via CloudWatch and external tools; lead incident response and root cause analysisDesign and oversee backup strategies and disaster recovery planning (RTO/RPO, cross-region replication, failover)About YouMust Haves:3+ years of hands-on AWS experience with strong knowledge of AWS architecture and servicesProven experience with Terraform and/or CloudFormationSolid networking fundamentals — TCP/IP, DNS, routing, VPNs, and firewall managementScripting proficiency in Python, Bash,



or PowerShellExperience with Linux and/or Windows server environmentsA clear understanding of cloud security principles and compliance practicesExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across technical and non-technical audiencesThe ability to work autonomously, prioritise effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced environmentA security-first mindset with solid attention to detailNice to Have:Experience with FortiGate / Fortinet firewallsFamiliarity with automation and orchestration tools such as n8n, Zapier, or scripting-heavy environmentsExperience with Docker, Kubernetes, or container platformsAWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, SysOps, or Security Specialty)Background in the healthcare industryWhat's in it for you?
