Your new role
As a
Youth Alcohol & Other Drug (AOD) Worker
, you will provide compassionate, client-centred support to young people seeking voluntary withdrawal and/or respite from alcohol and other drug use.
You'll help create a
protected, welcoming and culturally inclusive environment
, supporting young people's wellbeing, recovery goals and connection with appropriate services and ongoing care.
Shift Availability
This is a rotating roster, with most shifts scheduled during the day and afternoon, plus occasional overnight shifts:
Day:
7:45am–3:45pm
Afternoon:
3:15pm–11:15pm
Night:
11:00pm–8:00am

Your skills and experience
You will bring with you:
Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Youth Work, Psychology, Nursing, Allied Health, or a related field
Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD), completion of core competencies,



or willingness to complete within 12 months of employment
Competencies in dual diagnosis, or willingness to complete within 24 months of employment
Knowledge of the Alcohol and Other Drug sector, including the relationship with the Forensic AOD System and Central Intake Services
Strong communication, engagement, and interpersonal skills with young people and stakeholders
