This operational interface was specifically emphasised in the client briefing. This is a hands-on site role - Although there will naturally be planning, coordination, documentation and reporting responsibilities, this is not intended to be an office-based PM position.
You will work closely with contractors day to day, and during active construction and commissioning periods a significant proportion of your time will be spent on site. The organisation has dedicated safety support,

but the Construction Manager remains responsible for ensuring work is safely executed within the live operating environment. What we're looking for - Ideally you will bring:5-10 years' experience across industrial construction, commissioning or project deliveryStrong experience working within a live or brownfield plantDemonstrated commissioning and plant start-up capabilityExperience coordinating several contractors simultaneouslyStrong multidisciplinary systems integration experienceExposure to mechanical, process, electrical and control interfacesShutdown and tie-in experienceStrong understanding of work control and site safety systemsExperience transitioning projects from construction into operationsPractical problem-solving and strong site leadership capabilityConfidence working across contractors, engineers and operational stakeholdersExperience in cement manufacturing is advantageous but not essential.
Exp in mining, minerals processing, power generation, bulk materials, manufacturing and other heavy industrial environments could be equally relevant and candidates are encouraged to apply. An engineering or technical qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Process or a related discipline is desirable but not mandatory when you have strong practical site and commissioning experience. So who could suit this role?
We would particularly want to hear from people who have previously been responsible for taking a plant or major industrial system through: Construction completion, systems integration, commissioning, energisation/start-up, operational handover.
You could currently be working as a Construction Manager | Commissioning Manager | Construction & Commissioning Manager | Commissioning Superintendent | Project Manager | Senior Project Engineer | Integration Manager | Start-Up Manager. There is genuine scope to consider someone coming from a Project Manager background if you have the necessary construction and commissioning orientation. The opportunityRem: $180,000 + superRelocation Support AvailableHybid roleThis is an opportunity to sit at the centre of a complex capital program rather than own just one isolated construction package. You will bring together multiple project streams and play a key role in ensuring newly constructed assets move successfully from project delivery into reliable operation.
If you enjoy the final, complex stage of major industrial projects, when construction, commissioning, contractors, engineering and operations all converge, then this will be a particularly compelling assignment for you.Acknowledgement of Country - Hinchen Recruitment Group pay our respects to the Traditional Owners of country throughout Australia.
