Blank Theory has already built an internal AI and operational platform used by our team to improve reporting, workflows, decision-making and day-to-day efficiency.
We are hiring the person who will own what comes next.
You will inherit a production platform, understand how it fits into our organisation, and work with subject matter experts to improve, automate and extend it.
What is already built
The platform connects agency data, workflows and AI.
It includes production integrations, authentication, permissions, reporting, operational tools and AI-assisted workflows.
Our environment includes React, TypeScript, Vercel, Supabase, PostgreSQL, serverless functions, model APIs, prompt management and AI observability.
What you will own
You will be the primary engineer responsible for the platform.
You will work directly with specialists across Paid Media, SEO/AIO, Content, Email Marketing, Account Management and Operations to understand how work is done, where time is lost, where errors occur and where better systems can improve outcomes.
You will turn those problems into practical solutions.
That may mean improving an existing workflow, building a feature, creating an automation, introducing an AI-assisted process, strengthening an integration or deciding conventional software is the better answer.
You will own work from discovery through to production: requirements, solution design, implementation, testing, release and iteration.
Success is easy: the platform becomes more useful, reliable and easier to extend,



and the agency operates better because of what you build.
Who we are looking for
You have commercial experience shipping production software and are comfortable taking ownership of an existing product or substantial codebase.
You can speak with non-technical users, identify the real problem behind a request, make sound technical trade-offs and turn ambiguous requirements into transparent delivery plans.
You also have hands‐on experience with LLM-powered applications, AI coding agents, prompt engineering, structured outputs, tool use, evaluation and production monitoring.
You care about reliability and verify AI-generated work rather than treating it as inherently correct.
Technical capabilities
We are particularly interested in experience with:
TypeScript and React
Supabase, Vercel and PostgreSQL
Serverless architecture
APIs, authentication and permissions
Third‐party integrations
AI monitoring and observability
Experience with Langfuse, Anthropic, OpenAI or similar tools is useful.
Agency or marketing technology experience is helpful, but not required.

Location and application
Blank Theory is based in Mount Waverley, Melbourne.
This is a hybrid role with three days per week in the office.
