Communications and Stakeholder Adviser - Melbourne
Elexia Communications | The Voice in Energy
Want to get closer to where the decisions are actually made?
Elexia is looking for a sharp, commercially minded communications and corporate affairs professional to join our growing team in Melbourne.
This is a little different from a standard agency role.
You'll join Elexia and spend your first 12 months embedded with one of our major clients, working closely with senior leadership across communications, corporate affairs, government relations and executive priorities.
Think part communications adviser, part corporate affairs operator and part chief-of-staff support.
You'll be close to the action.
What you'll do
Support senior executives on communications, corporate affairs and government-facing priorities
Draft briefings, correspondence, speeches, presentations and executive materials
Help manage complex internal and external stakeholder issues
Coordinate priorities across communications, government relations, corporate affairs and the broader business
Support major announcements, issues and media activity
Turn complicated information into clear, sharp advice
Keep significant work moving across multiple teams and senior stakeholders
Identify issues early and help work out what needs to happen next
Work closely with the wider Elexia team on strategic communications and reputation matters
Who we're looking for
You might currently work in corporate affairs, communications,

government, public affairs, a ministerial office, consultancy or a large organisation.
What matters most is that you can think.
You're organised, politically and commercially aware, an excellent writer and comfortable dealing with senior people.
You know when something matters, when something doesn't and when someone needs to make a decision.
You'll ideally bring:
Around 4-7 years' relevant experience
Excellent writing and briefing skills
Strong judgement and discretion
Confidence working with senior executives and stakeholders
An understanding of government, media or corporate decision-making
The ability to manage multiple priorities without losing the detail
Experience in energy, infrastructure or another regulated sector would be useful, but it isn't essential.
Why Elexia
Elexia is one of Australia's fastest-growing specialist communications and reputation advisory firms.
We work with major companies and projects across energy and infrastructure on high-profile campaigns, complex issues, media, government and reputation.
We're an ambitious team doing serious work.
This role gives you something unusual: a year working inside a major organisation, close to senior decision-makers, while remaining part of a growing specialist advisory firm.
You'll build experience on both sides of the table - and have the opportunity to grow with Elexia as we continue to expand.
