About the role
As Senior Communications Officer, you'll be a trusted communications advisor responsible for delivering strategic and innovative communications across a broad portfolio of Council programs, projects and priorities.
In this role, you will:
Develop and deliver integrated communications strategies and campaigns that drive awareness, understanding and community participation.Provide strategic communications advice to leaders across the organisation.Mentor and support Communications Officers, helping build capability and deliver best-practice communications outcomes.Lead high-profile communications projects from planning through to delivery and evaluation.Create compelling content across a range of channels, including media, digital, social, web, video,
stakeholder communications and campaign materials.
A bit about you
We're seeking a communications professional who combines strategic thinking with exceptional execution.
You will bring:
Tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.At least five years' experience in communications, public relations, corporate affairs or stakeholder engagement.Experience developing and delivering strategic communication plans and multi-channel campaigns.Outstanding writing, storytelling and content development skills.Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels.
While experience in local government is a plus, it is not mandatory for the role.
