Senior Compliance Officer (Regulatory) | APS6Beaumont&Beaumontare; seeking applications forSenior Compliance Officers (Regulatory) at the APS6 level to join the Regulatory Division within a CommonwealthGovernment Agency in Canberra.This role is for full-time hours, and for an initial period of around 12 months, with the opportunity for a short extension of up to 6 months.
The vacancy is based in Canberra City Centre, with hybrid work considered on a case-by-case basis.Full-time hoursWork-life balance with regular office hoursCompetitive payOpportunity for Commonwealth Government experienceHighly professional workplaceIdeal Candidate CharacteristicsExperience performing compliance and regulatory activities within professional environments such as accounting, commerce, finance or related fields will be highly regarded.Formal qualifications in regulatory, compliance and/or auditing.Experience experience leading structured or compliance-based work such as financial audits, quality checks or similar processes individually or as a team.Highly organised and able to complete tasks methodically and accurately while strictly adhering to compliance requirements.Highly developed anaytical skills.Ability to interpret complex information, identify risks and issues, and provide timely, accurate, and well‐reasoned advice and support to decision makers.Ability to be flexible, adaptable and responsive to the requirements of the legislative changes, and promote and support junior staff in this.Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively within teams and across business areas, and to build and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders at all levels.Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, deliver quality outcomes under pressure,



and apply sound judgement to balance competing demands in a fast‐paced environment.A robust commitment to working collaboratively and contributing positively to a team environment, with the ability to lead by example and support the broader strategic direction of the Agency.Duties of the RoleIndependently review financial disclosure returns submitted by a range of political participants to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with legislative requirements.Assess and review procedures on claims for election funding across the electoral cycle, including undertaking complex compliance assessments in accordance with relevant legislation.Oversee and coordinate the accurate processing and payment of election funding to eligible political parties and candidates, ensuring all payments are delivered in line with legislative and procedural obligations.Lead the collection and analysis of information from diverse sources to support a risk‐based approach to identifying and investigating potential non‐compliance, including risks of foreign influence through financial contributions.Provide leadership, guidance, and support to junior staff as required, fostering capability development and high‐quality outcomes.Work as part of a supportive team under limited direction with the opportunity for autonomy and accountability.Other Important InformationFlexible work or work from home may be available for this role, however details of any individual arrangement will be determined subject to operational needs and approval from the client.
