An experienced Marine Refit Manager to lead a small, skilled refit team delivering engineering refit and repair work on yachts, commercial vessels and superyachts.
You'll be the link between clients and the workshop: running jobs from first enquiry through to handover, making sure the right people are on the right tasks, and making sure the work is done properly.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone with deep marine engineering knowledge who can guide technicians through correct procedures, not just allocate tasks.Key responsibilitiesLeading and supporting a small team of marine technicians and engineersAllocating staff to jobs, managing workloads and keeping projects on scheduleProviding technical guidance and ensuring repairs follow correct procedures and manufacturer specificationsLiaising with clients, owners, captains and engineers on scope, progress and handoverPreparing quotes for selected jobs and working with management on larger or more complex pricingEntering and managing jobs in the system, including job cards,
parts, time and documentationSourcing parts and coordinating with suppliers and subcontractorsTroubleshooting faults and making sound technical calls when problems ariseMaintaining high standards of workmanship, workplace health and safety, and quality controlAbout youStrong, in-depth knowledge of marine engineering systems and equipmentProven experience in a marine refit, repair or engineering environmentExperience leading, mentoring or supervising technical staffConfident dealing with clients and communicating clearly, both technically and commerciallyAbility to scope work and prepare accurate quotesWell organised, with valuable planning and job management skillsComfortable with job management software and administrationTrade qualification or equivalent experience in marine engineering, diesel fitting, or a related field
