15th September, ****An opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a progressive and contemporary Chartered Accounting firm.The practice has evolved from predominantly supporting start-ups to advising an increasingly established and sophisticated client base.
Clients are highly varied and include growing private businesses, professional services firms, retailers, property investors and multinational organisations, with turnovers ranging from approximately $1 million to more than $100 million.This role would suit a commercially minded accountant who enjoys taking responsibility for clients, managing workflow and developing trusted advisory relationships.The opportunityYou will initially support and progressively take responsibility for a client portfolio valued at approximately $400,000K to increase to $600,000 in annual fees over time.Managing a varied portfolio of privately owned and multinational clientsPreparing and reviewing financial statements and income tax returnsManaging compliance and advisory requirements for companies, trusts, partnerships and individualsProviding advice concerning Division 7A, Personal Services Income and other business taxation mattersSupporting clients with tax planning, structuring and general business adviceCommunicating directly with clients and developing strong ongoing relationshipsManaging workflow,



deadlines and the delivery of client workLiaising on international accounting and taxation matters where requiredReviewing work processed by the firm's offshore accounting teamWorking closely with the firm's senior leadership and broader accounting teamContributing to process improvements and the implementation of new technologyAbout youApproximately five to seven years of Australian public-practice accounting experienceStrong Business Services and taxation knowledgeExperience managing clients or leading a portfolioSound knowledge of Division 7A and Personal Services Income provisionsExperience working with a broad range of entities and client structuresConfident written and verbal communication skillsThe ability to manage deadlines and competing prioritiesCA or CPA qualifications, or substantial progress toward completionA technology-focused and forward-thinking approachExperience reviewing or coordinating offshore work would be advantageousThis is a contemporary and technology-driven boutique Chartered Accounting practice, with 5 staff in Sydney and 3 support staff offshore.Technology is central to the practice.
The firm operates primarily through Xero Tax, Xero Practice Manager and FYI Docs and is currently working on projects involving AI-based tools and further practice automation.The successful candidate will receive structured support while becoming familiar with the firm, its clients and systems.
Office attendance will be required during the initial settling-in period, with access to up to two work-from-home days introduced once established.
The ongoing hybrid arrangement will be confirmed following probation.
