Business Manager/Bookkeeper - Music & EntertainmentCalculated Matters is a Sydney-based bookkeeping, business management and tax practice for the entertainment industry.
We're looking for an experienced Business Manager to join our team part-time, working from home anywhere in Australia.
You'll manage a portfolio of music and creative clients who rely on accurate, timely and reliable information, and you'll report to our Senior Accountant.
The role is 20 hours per week, ideally across four days.Key responsibilitiesManage day-to-day accounting for a portfolio of music and creative clients, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll and superannuationPrepare tour reports and settlements, tracking income and expenses across shows and territoriesCalculate management and agency commissions accuratelyAccount for the wide-ranging income streams our clients earn, such as performance fees, royalties, merchandise, streaming and syncPrepare BAS/IAS and support tax compliance alongside our senior teamBuild strong client relationships and be a reliable point of contactReview and support the work of more junior team members, and mentor them as neededWork autonomously and manage your own workload,



while knowing when to bring in the Senior Accountant on complex or unusual issuesAbout you5+ years in a bookkeeping or accounting role, with Australian accounting and tax experienceProven music industry accounting experience, including tour reporting, commission calculations and multiple income streamsHighly skilled in Xero and HubdocMinimum Qualification - Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or higher (BAS Agent registration desirable)Exceptional attention to detail and the confidence to make sound decisions independentlyClear, professional communication with clients and colleagues, and the judgement to ask for help when it mattersExperience in the wider creative industries is a bonusAbout usCalculated Matters is a Sydney-based bookkeeping, business management and tax practice for the entertainment industry.
