This is a permanent part time position working alongside our Membership Services Officer.
To be the first point of contact for members and guests, provide a warm welcome and be the face of RMYS and RMSTA.
Facilitate member engagement and retention by proactively reaching out to members and non-members, answering incoming enquiries and providing exemplary customer service.
Key responsibilities
Day to day management of the membership database
Receive and process applications for membership
Maintain the marina database and allocate pens for casual and long-term arrivals
Manage reception, phone systems and access control
Manage function booking lists and liaise between events committee and caterers
Review and follow-up overdue member accounts
Prepare and promulgate the GC Officer of the Day roster
Maintain the Australian Sailing register of members
Contribute to the production of the online weekly RMYS newsletter
Primary point of contact for Emergency Services
About you
Excellent communication skills - demonstrated by relevant school certificate English or equivalent
Excellent listening and communicating skills
High level of customer service
Team playing attitude
Knowledge of all areas of the club, especially membership and RMSTA services
Computer software proficiency including Office 365 suite, Member Magic,
Marina Magic, Revsport, Aust Sailing, Try Booking and MemberPoint App
Australian Driver's Licence (desirable)
Sailing experience (desirable)
About us
Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron was founded as the St Kilda Sailing Club in **** and became the St Kilda Yacht Club in ****.
The St Kilda Yacht Club was granted royal assent in April **** to become Royal St Kilda Yacht Club.
In June **** Royal St Kilda Yacht Club amalgamated with the St Kilda 14 Foot Sailing Club and adopted the name, 'Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron'.
The mission of Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron is to deliver a well organised range of yacht racing, cruising, on water activities and social events; deliver a wide range of learn-to-sail and boating courses from introductory to advanced that develop and support sailors of all skill levels; promote all club activities in a safe, supportive, healthy and friendly manner; cultivate an enjoyable and inclusive social atmosphere for our members and the community; provide a boating precinct with a high-quality clubhouse, facilities and marina; engage with the community and the natural environment; and uphold good governance, strong financial management, sustainability and accountability.
