We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Venue Supervisor to join our hospitality team on a part-time basis.
This role offers a minimum of 20 hours per week with opportunities for additional hours during busy periods and peak event seasons.
Working across our venues, you will play a key role in ensuring seamless day-to-day operations, supervising functions and events, and leading front-of-house teams to deliver outstanding service.
This position operates on a adaptable rotating roster that includes both day and evening shifts, depending on venue operations and events.Key responsibilitiesSupervise day-to-day venue operations across event spaces, bar, restaurants, and cafesLead and support front-of-house teams to deliver exceptional customer serviceCoordinate and supervise functions and events from setup through to completionMonitor and manage inventory, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipmentProvide hands-on leadership and support to the venue team, including training and developmentSupport operational compliance, venue procedures,



and workplace safety requirementsHandle member and guest enquiries professionally and resolve issues effectivelyAbout youMinimum 2 years experience in a supervisory role within the hospitality industryStrong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teamsStrong organisational and problem‐solving skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectivelyA keen eye for detail and presentation standardsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer‐centric approachExperience using point‐of‐sale and hospitality management systemsA passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to promoting the club's values and brandAbout usUniversity House is the Staff & Alumni Club of The University of Melbourne, Australia's leading University.
