Excellent long-term opportunity for an experienced Snr Construction Project Manager, outstanding rates
Covering some of North Sydney's prominent physical assets, this busy custodian organisation requires additional expertise for their Capital Works (principally building projects) programme.
You will report to the Manager Project Services to provide a high level of professional and technical support in delivering Council's capital works program.
Your duties:
Provide a high level of professional and technical support in delivering capital works, including sound technical advice and exceptional client relationships.
Manage the delivery of a wide-ranging portfolio of projects, including project initiation, development, construction, contracts supervision and administration to the agreed time, cost and quality.
Provide high level aspects of project designs, specifications and contract documentation for projects.
Develop project plans for the delivery of each project, including defining projects, developing work breakdown structures.
Provide contract management, including the full range of contracting functions, such as brief preparation, tendering & tender evaluation, management of contractors and consultants, WHS and environmental compliance, commissioning, project handover, and defects liability management
Perform the role of the Superintendents' Representative, incorporating administrative and legal requirements.




Liaise with contractors and Council staff with regard to project site establishment, set out, and location of existing services at commencement and during construction work.
Monitor and report on the progress of projects including updating monthly status & financial reports and other corporate reporting requirements including monitoring performance against milestones
Monitor and manage project budgets allocated to you to achieve project completion within budget, time and quality.
Maintain proper records of projects, including progress updates, variations etc.
Provide accurate and relevant advice and liaison to stakeholders on project delivery through regular reporting activities for both internal and external stakeholders
You will have relevant qualifications (building, architecture, engineering, trade etc) and a minimum of 10 years' experience in project managing building construction and refurbishment projects, ideally as a client-side representative.
This role is an Agency contract position paying good rates of circa $75/hr + Super.
Initially, it is for a 12-month contract with possible direct employment later next year and is only open to candidates with full working rights in Australia.
