We're
looking for a
General Manager, Cooking
to lead one of Breville's key global product portfolios.
About the Role
Reporting to the Global Product Officer, the General Manager, Cooking holds end-to-end strategic, commercial and product leadership accountability for Breville's global
Cooking
portfolio.
This is a significant product leadership role.
You'll
set the direction and ambition for the portfolio, translating consumer and enterprise strategy into compelling category strategies, multi-year product roadmaps and investment priorities that drive sustainable growth and strengthen Breville's competitive position globally.
The portfolio spans
Countertop
O
vens,
Breakfast
(
T
oasters and
K
ettles
)
, Food Preparation,
Juice
and Specialty Cooking appliances, alongside
an established portfolio of existing products.
A genuine interest in cooking, consumers and creating outstanding products is important to success in the role.
You'll
act as the senior commercial owner for the
Cooking
portfolio, with accountability for portfolio performance, investment
prioritisation
and the commercial outcomes of the product pipeline.
You'll
make the calls that
determine
where we invest, which opportunities progress and how we balance consumer desirability, commercial return, technical
possibility
and speed to market.
Operating within Breville's matrixed Global Product organisation,
you'll
provide strategic direction to Category Managers and Product Development Managers leading multiple cross-functional product development squads.
You'll
partner closely with Engineering, Design, Quality, Research, Finance, Go-to-
Market
and regional teams to turn strategy into products that win in markets around the world.
What
You'll
Do
Set the strategy.
Own the commercial and consumer strategy for the
Cooking
portfolio, shaping category plans and product roadmaps that respond to
consumer needs, market
opportunities
and Breville's broader business ambitions.
Build a winning product portfolio.
Identify
and prioritise the opportunities that can create meaningful consumer and commercial value, from new product platforms through to the evolution of existing categories.
Own the commercial outcomes.
Lead portfolio P&L; thinking, business cases, investment prioritisation and ROI, balancing revenue, margin, consumer fit and brand relevance throughout the product lifecycle.
Turn strategy into execution.
Ensure the portfolio delivers high-quality products on time, on brief and within budget.
Make
timely
trade-offs, unblock
issues
and keep teams focused on the highest-value opportunities.
Lead through the matrix.
Create clarity across Category Managers, Product Development Managers and specialist functional teams, aligning priorities and resources while
maintaining
the technical excellence of Breville's functional domains.
Shape future innovation.
Identify
knowledge gaps and emerging opportunities and commission consumer research and R&D; that can create future category and product advantage.
Build high-performing teams.
Create an environment characterised by clarity, pace, creativity,
collaboration
and accountability.
Coach and empower leaders rather than becoming the decision bottleneck.
Influence across Breville.
Represent the Cooking portfolio in enterprise planning and senior leadership forums, building strong relationships across functions,
geographies
and regional business units.
About You
You are a strategic and commercially minded product leader who is equally comfortable thinking about what and why we should build as you are how and when we deliver it.
You'll
bring:

-
7+ years' experience across Product Management, Product Development or Business Management, ideally within a global consumer products environment
A tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing, Engineering,
Design
or a related discipline
Proven experience developing and executing product or category strategies and roadmaps that deliver commercial growth
Strong commercial and financial acumen, including experience with P&L; management, business cases, investment
prioritisation
and ROI
Demonstrated success leading and influencing cross-functional teams in a complex, matrixed organisation
Strong judgement and the confidence to make decisions and navigate competing priorities
An entrepreneurial and curious mindset, with a genuine passion for products,
consumers
and innovation
Strong leadership, influencing,
facilitation
and communication capability
A collaborative approach and openness to challenge, different
perspectives
and
new ideas

Most importantly, you know how to create the conditions for talented people to do their best work.
You can provide direction without taking over, bring clarity when things are ambiguous, and build alignment across teams that
don't
necessarily report directly to you.
