This is an estimating role where your pricing directly drives the pipeline of an established, growing commercial builder.
About the business
Our client is a well-established commercial builder with more than a decade of delivery behind it.
They deliver new builds and refurbishment projects of up to around $12M across community and civic, childcare, education and commercial sectors, with a growing share of Design & Construct work.
The business is in a growth phase, and estimating sits at the centre of it.
The role
You'll own tenders from documents through to submission, working closely with the project managers, design team and leadership to price work accurately and competitively, shape D&C; solutions and help decide which bids are worth chasing.
What you'll do
Review tender documents, drawings and specifications and prepare detailed cost estimates
Measure and quantify materials, labour and plant
Source, analyse and level supplier and subcontractor quotes
Identify risks, opportunities and value-engineering options
Prepare and submit tenders on time, including cost breakdowns and project budgets
Work with the design team to develop accurate D&C; estimates
Attend pre-tender meetings,



site inspections and client briefings
Build robust relationships with suppliers, subcontractors and clients
Run post-tender reviews to sharpen estimating accuracy and win rate
Stay across market pricing, material costs and construction methods
About you
3+ years' estimating experience in commercial construction
Strong understanding of construction processes, materials and methods
Confident with Buildsoft, Cubit or similar, plus MS Office
Able to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings
Sharp with numbers, detail-focused and calm under tender deadlines
Strong negotiator and communicator
D&C; estimating experience is highly regarded
A qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or similar, and knowledge of local building codes and standards, are a plus
