We are seeking an experienced Payroll Systems Administrator to become the subject matter expert for our payroll and workforce management systems.
This is an exciting opportunity for a payroll systems specialist who enjoys problem solving, system optimisation, governance and compliance.
You will play a critical role in ensuring our Chris21 and Humanforce environments support accurate payroll outcomes across a complex, multi-site organisation.
About the Role
Directly reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for the administration, configuration, maintenance and continuous improvement of Arcare's payroll systems.
You will work closely with Payroll, HR, Finance, IT and operational teams to ensure payroll systems remain compliant, efficient and aligned with business requirements.
A key focus of the role will be leading the implementation, testing and maintenance of Enterprise Agreement (EBA) changes across Chris21 while ensuring strong governance, audit controls and payroll compliance standards are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
Administer and maintain Chris21 and associated payroll applications
Configure payroll rules, allowances, deductions, leave accruals and award interpretation rules
Lead payroll system testing for EBA changes, wage increases and legislative updates
Partner with the Humanforce Administrator to ensure payroll and workforce management systems remain aligned
Develop and execute test scenarios, reconciliations and user acceptance testing
Drive system optimisation and automation initiatives
Support payroll compliance, governance and audit requirements
Develop payroll reporting and data analysis solutions
Manage vendor relationships and coordinate system upgrades and releases
Act as the escalation point for complex payroll system issues and configuration challenges
About You
You are an experienced payroll systems professional with a solid technical background and a passion for compliance, governance and continuous improvement.
You will bring:
Extensive experience administering Chris21 (iChris) or similar enterprise payroll systems
Strong understanding of payroll legislation, Enterprise Agreements, Awards and Fair Work requirements
Demonstrated experience implementing and testing payroll system changes
Experience working with workforce management systems such as Humanforce
Strong analytical, problem‐solving and reconciliation skills
Experience with payroll reporting and SQL‐based analysis
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
A strong focus on governance, risk management and audit controls
Highly Regarded
Experience within aged care, healthcare or similarly complex industrial environments
Payroll certifications or related tertiary qualifications
Experience supporting payroll audits, underpayment reviews or remediation projects
