About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Cancer Centre Bookings Officer to support a high-performing Admissions Service. Acting as the first point of support for team members, you will help ensure the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of all patient admissions and theatre bookings, while delivering a personalised and compassionate admissions experience for patients and their families.
The role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, working 38 hours per week.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage theatre bookings, cancellations and schedule changes.
- Ensure accurate and timely entry, validation and quality control of all theatre bookings.
- Liaise with theatre teams and surgeons’ rooms to obtain required admission documentation and theatre lists.
- Monitor theatre capacity and support optimal utilisation of available sessions.
- Prepare and distribute daily theatre lists, reports and activity forecasts.
- Maintain accurate reporting and communication of forecast theatre activity.
- Support patient admissions processes, including admissions paperwork and health fund checks.
- Provide guidance and day-to-day support to team members while fostering a collaborative,
patient-centred culture.
Your skills and experience
To thrive in this role, you will bring experience in an admissions, bookings or healthcare administration environment, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will have a strong customer service focus, a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to maintain accurate records and data. A Medical Terminology Certificate (or equivalent), proficiency in Microsoft Office and webPAS, and experience using healthcare information management systems, particularly the CHARM Oncology Information Management System, will be highly regarded.
You will be a highly organised individual who can effectively manage competing priorities and work accurately in a rapid-paced environment. An understanding of document management processes is essential, while knowledge of theatre procedures and CMBS coding will be advantageous. Knowledge of the CHARM Oncology Information Management System will be highly desirable.

- Salary: $77,239 to $80,741 plus 12% superannuation
- Permanent Full-Time position,
working 38 hours a week
