We are seeking a highly capable Senior Dental Assistant / Receptionist to join a modern, well-established dental practice.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who brings strong chairside assisting experience, exceptional reception skills and the confidence to take ownership of daily practice operations.

Working within a busy, up-to-date two-chair practice, you'll enjoy a varied position combining senior dental assisting, reception and team support.

The Prospect

This is not your typical dental assisting or reception position. You'll play a key role in ensuring the practice operates efficiently while delivering an exceptional patient experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Providing high-quality chairside assistance across general and advanced dental procedures

- Managing reception, appointment scheduling and patient enquiries

- Overseeing daily workflows and supporting team members

- Managing dental stock, ordering and supplier relationships

- Supporting clinicians with surgical and complex treatment preparation

- Managing patient recalls, payments and health fund claims

- Maintaining high standards of infection control and surgery preparation

- Taking initiative to identify and resolve day-to-day operational challenges

- Working closely with the Practice Manager to ensure smooth daily operations

The role offers a balanced mix of chairside assisting and reception, with opportunities to take on additional responsibility.

About You

We're looking for an experienced dental professional who is confident, proactive and takes genuine pride in their work.

To succeed in this role,



you will bring:

- Extensive experience in both dental assisting and dental reception within Australia

- Previous experience in a senior dental assisting or similar role

- Strong working knowledge of Dental4Windows (D4W) – essential

- Confidence in managing busy appointment books and patient communication

- Experience with dental stock management and ordering

- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

- Strong communication skills and a professional, patient-focused approach

- The ability to work independently, anticipate needs and take ownership of responsibilities

- A collaborative attitude and natural leadership qualities

Experience assisting with implants, oral surgery, orthodontics, Invisalign, endodontics or complex dental treatments will be highly regarded.
