Waterview Gosford Motor Inn – West Gosford NSW

We’re looking for a reliable, practical Maintenance & General Hand to help keep our motel well maintained, clean and running smoothly.

/n

This is a varied, hands-on role combining general repairs, pool care, basic gardening, common-area cleaning and laundry assistance. It would suit someone who enjoys working independently, solving everyday maintenance problems and helping a small team.

Hours and pay

/n

Approximately 3–5 days per week , with 4–6 hours per shift , depending on operational needs.

/n

Generally starting between 8am and 9am , and finishing between 12pm and 2pm .

/n

Friday and Saturday availability is essential. Other days can be discussed.

/n

Paid at Hospitality Industry (General) Award Level 4 casual rates :

/n

$36.81 per hour on weekdays

/n

$44.18 per hour on Saturdays

/n

These rates include casual loading. Superannuation, other applicable penalties and allowances are additional.

/n

What you’ll be doing

/n

General maintenance and repairs

/n

Minor carpentry and repairs to doors, windows, wardrobes, cupboards, hinges, handles and other fittings.

/n

Painting touch-ups, patching, sealing and general property upkeep.

/n

Routine inspections of rooms, facilities and equipment to identify maintenance issues early.

/n

Safe general maintenance tasks, such as replacing batteries and light globes.

/n

Identifying and reporting plumbing or electrical faults, and assisting licensed contractors as needed.



Work requiring a trade licence will be handled by appropriately licensed tradespeople.

/n

Pool, gardening and common areas

/n

Routine pool cleaning, water testing and care in accordance with the motel’s procedures.

/n

Basic gardening and grounds upkeep, including mowing, weeding, light pruning and keeping garden beds tidy.

/n

Keeping walkways, courtyards, car parks and pool surrounds clean and tidy.

/n

Sweeping, litter collection and emptying bins.

/n

Laundry and team support

/n

Collecting, moving and sorting linen.

/n

Operating washing machines and dryers, and transferring clean linen for folding.

/n

Helping with other reasonable general duties around the motel.

/n

The balance of duties will vary each day. Laundry and common-area work are regular parts of the role, with priorities adjusted when maintenance issues require attention.

/n

What we’re looking for

/n

Previous experience in general maintenance, handyman work or a similar practical role.

/n

Confidence using common hand and power tools safely.

/n

A current driver’s licence valid in NSW .

/n

The ability to work independently, organise tasks and recognise when specialist help is needed.

/n

Reliability, attention to detail and respectful communication with colleagues and guests.

/n

Willingness to assist with gardening, cleaning and laundry as part of a diverse role.

/n

Previous maintenance experience in a motel, hotel or similar accommodation property would be an advantage.
