Math Minds
Brighton
Be the heart of our Brighton centre.
As Centre Coordinator, you’ll make sure students feel welcome, parents stay in the loop, and coaches have what they need to do their best work. It’s a leadership role with room to move up as we expand.
We’ve opened 7 centres in the past 5 years, and we’re just getting started. Our newest, on Bay Street in Brighton, has a bright, up-to-date fit-out and is ready for someone to make it their own.
No one teaches Maths like we do
We build better learners. You’ll teach for deep understanding, not rote learning, so students know the why behind the how. You’ll also help them develop the mindset and study habits that carry them well beyond school: backing themselves when things get tough, celebrating their mistakes, and seeing effort as the path to mastery.
Our centres are loud in the best way, full of laughter, banter and a cheer when something finally clicks. Behind the fun is our proven Fast-track Method™. Students start with an assessment, then work through a digital program built around exactly what they need, with one-on-one coaching in a group of up to four.
No crowded classrooms. No worksheets to mark. No prep needed. Our own custom apps take care of parent reports and scheduling, so you can focus on the students in front of you.
How the role works
This is a part-time salaried role of about 24 hours a week, with an immediate start:
- Monday to Friday, 3:45pm - 8:00pm in centre.
- A weekly one-hour online team meeting (Mondays, 11:30am).
- A little admin, like parent emails, that you can do from home.
Initially you’ll work across Brighton and our nearby Glen Iris and Glen Waverley centres,
spending more of your week at Brighton as enrolments increase, with occasional cover at other centres.
Your first few weeks
Your training is hands-on. You’ll shadow experienced coordinators, observe assessments, and get to know our curriculum, teaching strategies and apps. Once you’re ready, you’ll take the lead at Brighton.
What you’ll do
- Coach. Work with students from Grades 3–10, sharpening their skills and lifting their confidence.
- Lead. Run the centre on shift, and support and develop a team of 10–15 coaches.
- Connect. Welcome new families, run student assessments and keep parents across their child’s progress.
- Champion. Make Math Minds the name Brighton families know and trust.
Why you’ll love it here
- Salary and bonuses. $40,320 incl. super, plus mid-year and end-of-year bonuses of up to $5,000, for a total package of up to $45k.
- A 4-week summer break and weekends off. Our centres close over Christmas and New Year, giving you a full month to recharge.
- Level up your career. Ongoing training and quarterly masterclasses on everything from running a team to mindset coaching. As we grow, we promote from within for roles in operations, curriculum and student success.
- Students who want to be there. We only enrol students who are ready to improve, whether they’re catching up or racing ahead.
That means your time goes into teaching, not behaviour management.
- A relaxed culture. Down-to-earth people and zero corporate stiffness.
- A seat at the leadership table. You’ll work side by side with our other Centre Coordinators and directly with our directors.
What we’re looking for
- Warm, upbeat energy and a natural way with kids and parents
- Completed Year 12 Maths, and able to teach up to Year 10
- Teaching or tutoring experience (around 1 year preferred)
- Organised, and comfortable with computers and digital tools
- Current Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain one)
Nice to have
- A bachelor’s degree (completed or in progress)
- VCE Maths teaching experience
- Leadership, coordination or team supervision experience
Is this you?
If you love Maths, enjoy working with kids, and you’re ready to take the next step beyond tutoring, we want to hear from you. This is where our future leaders start. Come grow with us.
How to apply
Applying takes a few minutes. No cover letter needed, just a short note covering:
1. Which levels you’re comfortable teaching: Primary (Gr 3–6) | Secondary (Gr 7–10) | VCE General | VCE Methods | VCE Specialist
2. Your availability: are you available 3:45–8:00pm, Monday to Friday?
3. Why this role appeals to you, in 2–3 sentences.
We read every note, so please don’t skip it.
What happens next
Shortlisted applicants will have a short video chat, then an in-person interview at one of our centres. We aim to get back to you within a week. We’re interviewing as applications come in, so the sooner you apply, the better.
