Undergraduate Student in Nursing/Midwifery - Gympie Maternity Ward

Develop your career with Sunshine Coast Health in southeast Queensland which extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

We're excited to welcome an Undergraduate Student in Nursing / Midwifery (USIN) to our Women's Health Unit in Gympie.

The Women's Health Unit in Gympie is a 12 physical bed unit with 2 Birth Suites. It is a Level 3 Service Capability Facility and does an average of 300 births per year. The unit accommodates female surgical patients as well as female medical outliers. All nursing and midwifery staff work in antenatal, postnatal and birth suite areas as well as caring for the surgical and medical patients. Our referral centres are Sunshine Coast University Hospital and Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.

Key Responsibilities include:

- Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
- Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service Values.
- Actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination,



work health and safety and ethical behaviour.
- Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces and manage all information in accordance with legislation, standards, policies, and procedures

Salary rates: $35.94 - $36.42 p.h., employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 2) (fixed term temporary part time position available for 12 months, 40 hrs p.f.).
