Role Description

This is a full time, on-site Graduate Accountant role based in Cairns, QLD. The Graduate Accountant will assist with preparing financial statements, tax returns, and compliance documentation for a range of clients under the guidance of senior accountants. Daily tasks include data entry and reconciliation, maintaining accurate accounting records, and supporting month-end and year-end processes. The role also involves liaising with clients to obtain information, responding to basic queries, and contributing to the preparation of reports and summaries.



The Graduate Accountant will participate in learning and development activities, use modern accounting software and tools, and support the team in delivering timely, high-quality advisory and compliance services.

Qualifications

- Relevant tertiary qualification (or near completion) in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
- Foundational knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and taxation concepts.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and accounting software; ability to learn new digital tools quickly.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and sound numerical and analytical skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and client-focused manner.
- Ability to work effectively in a team, accept feedback, and manage time and priorities in a busy environment.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development; eligibility or interest in pursuing CA or CPA accreditation is an advantage.
- Prior internship or work experience in an accounting or business environment is beneficial but not essential.
