We are seeking to establish a pool of Special Needs Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2027 school year and up to the end of Term1, 2028. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period. As a growing school community, we are experiencing an increasing need for skilled and passionate Special Needs Education Assistants to support students with a diverse range of learning, behavioural and complex needs. We are particularly interested in applicants who bring energy, experience, initiative and a genuine commitment to supporting student success. The Role As a Special Needs Education Assistant, you will ideally assist in education programs and promote a supportive, inclusive and engaging learning environment. Education Assistants work closely with teachers to deliver planned learning programs, enabling students to reach their full potential through the development of their academic, social, emotional and physical skills. Suitable applicants should possess high-level interpersonal skills and work collaboratively with staff members to meet the needs of students. In this role, you will provide feedback on education and therapy programs and participate in the evaluation of student progress and achievement of goals.



We are seeking applicants who are calm, proactive and adaptable, ideally with experience supporting students with additional needs, including those who present with complex behaviours. The ability to build positive relationships, implement behaviour support strategies and contribute to a positive classroom culture will be highly valued. Experience in Early Childhood education would be an advantage, particularly for applicants who can support young learners to successfully engage.

Eligibility

- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
- obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start; and
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
