We are specifically seeking an experienced medical receptionist who prefers afternoon and evening work and is available to work our closing shifts, generally finishing at approximately 10:00pm.

Our extended operating hours mean you can enjoy your mornings and start your workday later. Whether you have family commitments, school drop-offs, appointments, study, exercise or simply enjoy having your mornings free, this role offers the opportunity to work your afternoons and evenings rather than starting early in the morning.

This is an afternoon/evening position and the successful applicant must be genuinely willing and available to work closing shifts until approximately 10:00pm.

About you

This role is best suited to an experienced medical receptionist who is confident, capable and comfortable working independently.

During our evening shifts, you will need to be able to confidently manage the reception area, assist patients and practitioners, handle enquiries and payments, resolve issues and complete end-of-day procedures without needing constant supervision.





We are looking for someone who:

- Has at least 1 year of experience in medical reception, preferably within a busy GP, specialist or allied health practice
- Is confident working independently and taking responsibility for their shift
- Has a strong understanding of medical reception procedures and billing
- Is experienced with Medicare claiming and patient payments
- Has excellent communication and customer service skills
- Is professional, warm and genuinely patient-focused
- Has strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- Can confidently manage competing priorities in a busy environment
- Is reliable, punctual and takes pride in their work
- Understands patient confidentiality and privacy requirements
- Has experience using medical practice software
- Best Practice experience is highly regarded
- Is available for afternoon and evening shifts, including closing shifts until approximately 10:00pm
- Is flexible to work weekends and public holidays as required

About the role

As an important member of our reception team, your responsibilities will include:

- Providing a warm and professional welcome to patients
- Managing incoming calls and patient enquiries
- Scheduling and managing appointments
- Processing patient payments and Medicare claims
- Assisting doctors, nurses, specialists and allied health practitioners
- Managing patient requests and administrative enquiries
- Maintaining accurate patient records and completing data entry
- Maintaining a clean,



organised and welcoming reception and waiting area
- Supporting the smooth operation of the practice throughout the evening
- Completing end-of-day reception and administrative procedures
- Assisting with closing and securing the practice at the end of the day
- Maintaining patient confidentiality and following practice policies and procedures

Our consulting hours extend to 9:00pm, with closing reception staff generally finishing at approximately 10:00pm after completing end-of-day duties.

As with any busy medical practice, appointments and patient care can occasionally run beyond scheduled times, so the successful applicant will need to have some flexibility around their finish time when required.

If you are looking for a strictly daytime position or need to leave at a fixed time each evening, this role will not be suitable.
