About the Role
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Finance Specialist to join The Fullerton Hotel Sydney's Finance team.
This role provides exposure to a broad range of finance functions, with a primary focus on Income Audit and Accounts Payable. Reporting to the Accountant / Assistant Director of Finance, you will support daily finance operations by ensuring revenue and invoice processing activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with hotel procedures.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
In this role your main duties included but not limited to:
- Income Audit:
- Prepare and distribute daily revenue journals and supporting reports.
- Verify daily revenue figures and statistics for completeness and accuracy.
- Reconcile cash, credit card and hotel revenue transactions.
- Reconcile food and beverage revenue between POS and hotel systems.
- Review rebates, paid outs, voids and adjustment documentation to ensure appropriate approvals are obtained.
- Follow up on missing or incomplete supporting documentation.
- Verify banquet billing against approved Function Event Orders (BEOs).
- Maintain organised revenue audit records and filing systems.
- Assist with fortnightly F&B; tips reconciliation and processing.
- Support month-end income audit activities and reporting.
- Accounts Payable:
- Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
- Match invoices to purchase orders and ensure appropriate approvals are obtained.
- Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up with relevant departments.
- Assist with supplier statement reconciliations and investigation of discrepancies.
- Prepare payment supporting documentation for review and approval.
- Maintain organised filing of invoices, payment records and supporting documents.
- Assist with month-end accruals and Accounts Payable reporting.
- Respond to vendor enquiries and maintain positive supplier relationships.
- General Finance Support:
- Assist with finance document management and record keeping.
- Support other members of the Finance team as required.
- Assist with month-end processes and ad hoc finance projects.
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures and internal controls.
- Perform other reasonable duties as directed by management.
The Successful Candidate
- Diploma, Certificate or tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline, or currently undertaking studies in these fields.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles.
- Robust attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong numerical and reconciliation skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Full working rights in Australia.
- Knowledge of hotel systems such as Opera/Fidelio, Micros or SAP.
- Experience working with invoices, reconciliations or financial transactions.
- Previous hospitality industry experience.
