Trade Assistant
Automotive Equipment Industry | Full-Time Chance | Vehicle Provided.
Up to $37 p/h + company vehicle.
We are currently seeking a reliable and hands-on Trade Assistant to join the service team of an established business operating within the automotive equipment industry.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and wants to develop their skills and experience while working alongside experienced technicians.
About the Role
As a Trade Assistant, you will provide essential support to technicians carrying out service, repair and installation work on automotive workshop equipment, including wheel service and vehicle hoist equipment.
You’ll work across a variety of customer sites and play an important role in ensuring jobs are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
- Assisting technicians with service, repair and installation work
- Preparing work areas, tools, equipment and materials for jobs
- Loading, unloading, moving and positioning equipment and parts
- Assisting with the installation and servicing of workshop equipment
- Carrying out basic mechanical and hands-on tasks within your level of training and competency
- Keeping tools, vehicles, equipment and work areas clean and organised
- Assisting with packing up and cleaning customer sites after jobs are completed
- Supporting technicians to complete jobs safely and efficiently
- Assisting with parts, stock and materials
- Following all WHS requirements and safe work practices
- Maintaining a professional and respectful approach when working at customer sites
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Hands-on, practical and mechanically minded
- Reliable, punctual and committed to getting the job done
- Physically capable of moving tools, equipment and parts
- Safety conscious and willing to follow safe work practices
- Comfortable working across different customer sites
- Able to take direction and work effectively as part of a team
- Organised and takes pride in keeping tools and work areas tidy
- Professional and respectful when dealing with customers
- Keen to learn and develop trade and technical skills
Previous experience in a mechanical, automotive, engineering, construction or trade environment will be highly regarded, however, it is not essential. A strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to learn are key.
