Springwood Road State School has a cohesive Inclusion Team who have focused their support on ensuring quality Personalised Learning Plans are enacted in every classroom.

We require a Head of Special Education professional who can add value to the current work as well as work on developing a 2027 and beyond Strategic Inclusion Plan. A knowledge of Change Management is essential, ability to rapidly scan and assess to scale up success and identify opportunities for growth and aptitude for building positive connections with all community members.

This Head of Special Education Services role is offered on a temporary full-time basis, until 11 December 2026, unless otherwise determined.

Your Opportunity

Within this role you will coordinate and provide intensive,



targeted teaching for students requiring intervention and support case management for students requiring extensive or substantial adjustments.

You will provide guidance to classroom teachers and school staff, helping them access departmental and external specialist services, career development and other relevant supports. You will contribute specialist advice to planning and decision-making processes and support the implementation of appropriate strategies for individual students.

You will participate in professional development and contribute to the school's goals, vision and strategic planning, using your specialist knowledge to inform priorities and strengthen practice across the school.

Working closely with students, families, teachers and specialist providers, you will coordinate appropriate support and educational adjustments in accordance with relevant legislation and departmental policies.

This role provides an opportunity to lead specialist services, develop staff capability and support students with disability to access meaningful learning opportunities and achieve their potential.
