Position available in all states: NSW, VIC, QLD, TAS, SA, WA, NT Australian Citizenship Required DFP Recruitment is seeking an APS6 Environment and Release Manager to join a Federal Government client.

The Environment and Release Manager will support program delivery by coordinating complex and sensitive release activities, developing detailed technical implementation schedules and status reports, and working with testing and engineering teams to plan and manage environments. The role will also build and manage key internal and external stakeholder relationships to support strategic and operational outcomes.

Key duties and responsibilities

- Support the establishment and maintenance of the Release Management processes in consultation with relevant stakeholders including third party suppliers.
- Support execution of the Release Management processes inclusive of scheduling, coordinating and the management of releases across the Group for multiple applications across various portfolios, i.e. Salesforce, MuleSoft, EDW, SAP, APIC, Environments, Data. Releases may be inclusive of Projects and Programs, application changes, operating system patches, security improvements, and hardware upgrades.
- Support the coordination of recurring release content reviews and refinement based on the prioritised business and non-functional backlogs, service requests, third party applications, or operating system/environment updates.
- Support the development and maintenance of the Release schedule, balancing technical dependencies and business requirements, compliance and other priorities.
- Contribute to regular release management forums using work management tool set as the primary point of reference.
- Conduct Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews.




- Contribute to the production of Release, Deployment, Run Books and Implementation Plans.
- Liaise with delivery partner(s) for system implementation – this will include NDIA teams, Services Australia teams and commercial vendor teams.
- Work with release engineers to understand impacts of branches and code merges.
- Contribute to regular Release Reporting and represent the Release program and status in ICT Change Management activities and release planning.
- Ensure all ICT Change Processes are followed including Cyber assessments, Penetration testing, Go/No-Go gates.
- Maintain a positive collaborative team setting including business and delivery partner(s).
- Provide ICT delivery support to the team, including on conformance to Release and Change process, delivery methods and Project Management tool usage.
- Be a champion for continuous improvement, leveraging deep experience in ICT Release Management.

Essential criteria

- Strong Written and Oral Communication Skills: A release manager needs to effectively communicate release plans, updates, and potential issues to various stakeholders. This includes having a collaborative spirit and interpersonal skills with excellent Stakeholder engagement.
- Analytical Skills: They must be able to analyse release data, identify potential problems,



and make data-driven decisions to improve the release process.
- Organisational Skills: Managing multiple releases, coordinating teams, and ensuring that all tasks are completed on time requires strong organisational skills.
- Release Management Experience: Experience in planning, executing, and managing software releases.
- Experience with Release Management Tools: Proficiency in using tools for release planning, tracking, and deployment is essential.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: The ability to work effectively with developers, testers, operations, and other teams to ensure a smooth and successful release is vital.

Desirable criteria

- Project Management Experience: Experience in managing projects, preferably software development projects.
- Understanding of a SDLC: A thorough understanding of a SDLC, from requirements gathering to deployment, is crucial for managing releases effectively.
- Understanding of AI: Awareness of contemporary AI capabilities and risks, with the ability to responsibly apply AI tools to enhance productivity and decision-making in a complex ICT environment
