About the role
We are seeking an experienced Marketing and Communications Manager to join our team on a full-time basis based in Clearview, South Australia. This is a strategic position that will play a vital role in enhancing the visibility, reputation, and community engagement of Adelaide Cemeteries Authority. You will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive marketing and communications strategies that resonate with families, the broader community, and key stakeholders. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within our organisation whilst contributing to our mission of providing compassionate service during significant life moments.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement integrated marketing and communications strategies aligned with organisational objectives and community needs
- Manage all aspects of internal and external communications, including newsletters, social media, websites, and promotional materials
- Oversee the creation and distribution of content across multiple channels to engage diverse audiences and stakeholders
- Plan and execute marketing campaigns to promote cemetery services, pre-need planning, and memorial options
- Manage relationships with media, community organisations, and key partners to enhance organisational visibility
- Recruit and manage a Communications Coordinator to support delivery of marketing requirements.
- Coordinate collateral for special events, community outreach programmes, and commemorations
- Monitor and analyse marketing effectiveness using relevant metrics and reporting tools
- Develop and manage marketing budgets and procurement processes
- Provide strategic communications advice to senior management and the Board
- Ensure brand consistency and messaging across all organisational touchpoints
What we’re looking for
- Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 5 years' professional experience in marketing and communications roles, preferably within community services, healthcare, government or similar sectors
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing marketing strategies and campaigns
- Strong proficiency with digital marketing platforms, social media management, and content management systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences
- Experience in media relations and stakeholder engagement
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and marketing software/tools
- Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Sound understanding of privacy, compliance, and ethical considerations in marketing communications
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and at all organisational levels
- Desirable: Experience in not-for-profit, government, or community sector marketing
- Desirable: Knowledge of the cemetery, funeral, or related industries
