Are you a Fire Protection tradesman who has made the move off the tools and into service management?

We're working with an established fire protection contractor looking for a Service Manager to take ownership of their service operations across Sydney.

This is a outstanding opportunity for someone who has built their career from the ground up, understands what it takes to run jobs properly in the field and has transitioned into a management role and looking for further opportunity.

The Role

You'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of the service division, working closely with technicians, subcontractors and clients to make sure jobs are delivered efficiently and to a high standard.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Managing a team of fire service technicians and subcontractors

- Coordinating daily workloads, scheduling and resources

- Overseeing testing, maintenance, breakdowns and reactive service works

- Supporting technicians with technical issues and providing direction in the field

- Managing client relationships and being the key point of contact for service clients

- Reviewing and managing quotes, variations, defects and additional works

- Monitoring job progress, labour and overall service performance

- Ensuring works are completed safely and in line with relevant standards

- Working with senior management on service targets, reporting and business improvement





- Identifying opportunities to improve the way the service division operates

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who knows fire protection from the tools up.

Ideally, you'll have:

- 3-5 years' experience within the fire protection industry as a Service Manager / Service Supervisor

- A genuine trade background with experience progressing from the tools into supervision or service management

- Strong knowledge of fire protection service and maintenance

- Experience managing technicians, subcontractors and office staff

- Good understanding of all relevant fire protection standards

- Strong client and stakeholder management skills

- Commercial awareness around quoting, variations and job profitability

- The ability to lead a team, solve problems and keep things moving

- Current driver's licence

You don't need to have spent your entire career in management. The technical background is the important part. We want someone who understands the realities of the job, can talk to technicians on their level and has the leadership skills to take ownership of a service operation.
