Senior Accounting and Financial Control Analyst

Behind every major transformation is someone who can see both the numbers and the bigger picture. At the Public Transport Authority (PTA), we are embarking on one of the most significant organisational changes in our history through the Business Transformation Program (BTP). As our new Senior Accounting and Financial Control Analyst, you will help shape how finance operates in the future, moving the PTA from manual, legacy processes to modern, automated, ERP-enabled ways of working. Working closely with finance leaders, business stakeholders and transformation specialists, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening financial governance, improving controls, and building the foundations for smarter decision-making across the organisation.

This is more than a finance role. It is an opportunity to influence the design of the PTA's future financial landscape. From developing the Chart of Accounts and enhancing financial data governance to supporting process redesign, testing, business readiness and ERP implementation, you will help ensure that accounting practices and financial controls are not only compliant and robust, but fit for the future. This role will play a key part in ERP design, testing, business readiness and finance process transformation activities, helping embed modern, system-enabled ways of working across the PTA. Your ability to combine strong accounting expertise with business analysis skills will enable you to bridge the gap between technical solutions and business needs, ensuring sustainable improvements that deliver long-term value.

We are seeking a finance professional who thrives on solving complex problems, challenging traditional ways of working, and driving meaningful change. You will bring experience in accounting, financial controls, finance transformation, ERP implementations or business improvement initiatives, along with strong stakeholder engagement and analytical skill. If you're ready to help transform the future of finance within one of Western Australia's most important public sector organisations, we invite you to join us on this exciting journey.

About You!

To excel in this role, you should possess:

Demonstrated experience supporting accounting, financial control, finance transformation or business improvement initiatives in a complex organisational environment.

Experience contributing to ERP, financial management system or enterprise system implementation activities.

Demonstrated ability to assess business problems, analyse options and develop practical recommendations that improve financial governance, compliance and operational performance.

Well-developed management and leadership skills, including the ability to provide strategic guidance in the development of business and financial systems that support financial governance, accounting accuracy and operational efficiency.

Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related discipline. CPA or CA qualifications would be highly regarded.
