The service provides primary health care to the patients within the prison setting. Responsibilities include medication administration, health education, chronic disease case management, responding to emergencies and working within a multidisciplinary team to provide equitable and safe care. Improving the health of prisoners is a hallmark of a just society. It is also an important public health measure given that the prisoner population moves between prisons and the wider community.The role of the Nurse Unit Manager is to facilitate and provide nursing leadership, support, clinical supervision and mentoring within the nursing team. This position provides operational management of the correctional facilities, including resource management, rostering for all nursing and medical staff, supervision for the team leader, as well as education, & research accountabilities and strategic management to facilitate the delivery of high quality,
