About the Role

We are seeking an experienced or Graduate Registered Nurse to join our team on a casual basis , working primarily night shifts (10:00pm to 6:15am) at our residential aged care facility in Indooroopilly.

This role offers flexibility for nurses seeking casual employment while making a meaningful difference in the lives of older people from diverse cultural backgrounds. Reporting to the RN Supervisor, you will provide high-quality clinical care, support care staff, and contribute to the delivery of secure, person-centred services in accordance with contemporary aged care standards and clinical governance requirements.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Availability to work casual night shifts (10:00pm to 6:15am) , including weekends and public holidays as required.

- Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.

- Current and satisfactory National Police Check .

- Unlimited Australian work rights.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage respectfully with residents, families, colleagues and healthcare professionals from diverse cultural backgrounds.

- Ability to work autonomously, prioritise competing clinical demands and make sound clinical decisions.

- High attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality resident-centred care.





- Comprehensive knowledge of the Aged Care Act 2024 , Aged Care Rules 2025 and the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards , particularly Standards 1, 2, 3 and 5.

- Sound understanding of clinical governance, clinical risk management and open disclosure principles.

- Knowledge of AN-ACC assessment , classification and documentation requirements.

- Demonstrated clinical skills in wound management, chronic disease management, continence care, medication management, clinical assessments, nutrition and hydration, dementia care, behaviour support and palliative care.

- Knowledge of restrictive practices requirements, informed consent and behaviour support planning.

- Understanding of Serious Incident Response Scheme (SIRS) obligations and incident management processes.

- Knowledge of infection prevention and control requirements, including outbreak management in residential aged care.

- Ability to recognise and respond effectively to deterioration in older people and clinical emergencies.

- Demonstrated ability to support, educate and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary and multicultural care teams.

- Computer literacy and experience using electronic care management systems, incident reporting systems and clinical documentation platforms.

- Understanding of Workplace Health and Safety requirements in a residential aged care environment.
