At Match Works, we're looking for an Business Development Consultant to support participants within the Workforce Australia program, connecting job seekers with local employers and helping people overcome barriers to employment. Working closely with Employment Coaches, you'll use your networking skills, local market knowledge and employer partnerships to create sustainable employment outcomes across Northern Adelaide

What you’ll do

As a Business development Consultant in our team you’ll:

- Build strong relationships with local employers to create sustainable employment opportunities.
- Reverse market participants and promote their skills, strengths and potential to employers.
- Partner with Employment Coaches to identify suitable job matches and support positive outcomes.
- Educate employers on inclusive hiring practices and workplace support options.
- Provide ongoing support to employers and participants to encourage long-term employment success.

What you’ll bring

- Experience in Employment Services, recruitment, employer engagement, sales or business development.
- Strong relationship-building and networking skills with a customer-focused approach.
- Confidence engaging employers and creating opportunities through business development activities.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
- Resilience, initiative and a genuine passion for helping people achieve their employment goals.

(You’ll also need an NDIS Worker Screening Check and Orientation Module Certificate – but don’t worry, we’ll help guide you through this.)

Role Description

The Business Development consulant is a full-time, on-site role based in North Adelaide, SA.

This role is responsible for identifying and developing new employer partnerships, promoting MatchWorks’ services, and driving sustainable employment opportunities for job seekers.



Day-to-day tasks include lead generation, conducting market research, and engaging with local businesses to understand their workforce needs. The specialist will prepare proposals, attend networking events and meetings, and collaborate with internal teams to deliver high-quality employer and candidate experiences. Ongoing responsibilities include maintaining accurate records, tracking performance against targets, and contributing to continuous improvement of engagement and outreach strategies.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills and the ability to interpret data and labour market trends.
- Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills, including interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
- Candidates should possess Lead Generation skills, with experience in prospecting, relationship building, and pipeline management.
- Candidates should possess Market Research skills to assess employer needs, industry developments, and local employment opportunities.
- Candidates should possess Customer Service skills, with a focus on delivering respectful, responsive, and inclusive support to employers and job seekers.
- Relevant experience in business development, recruitment, employment services, or a related field is highly regarded.
- Knowledge of inclusive employment practices and working with diverse communities is beneficial.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet targets and deadlines are important.
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally for employer visits and networking may be required.
