Are you an experienced Dietitian passionate about delivering expert nutritional care and making a meaningful difference in the lives of patients with cancer and palliative care needs? Join the Nepean Cancer Wellness Centre (NCWC) and play a key role in providing advanced clinical nutrition services across Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District.
Based onsite at NCWC, this senior position provides high-level, evidence-based nutritional care to both inpatients and outpatients while supporting Dietitians delivering cancer and palliative care services across the district.
You will act as a clinical consultant to multidisciplinary teams, applying advanced clinical expertise, independent judgement, and problem-solving skills to complex cases. The role also involves collaborating with healthcare professionals and external agencies to ensure continuity of care, leading quality improvement initiatives, reviewing and developing clinical policies and protocols, and contributing to the planning, implementation, evaluation, and reporting of Dietetic services. In addition, you will support the development of patient education resources, supervise Dietetic students, and provide clinical supervision, education, and support to junior Dietitians and other staff.

What you will bring to the role
- Tertiary qualifications in Nutrition and Dietetics and eligible for full membership of the Dietitians’ Association of Australia
- Up-to-date knowledge, skills and competence in the nutritional management of patients with cancer and in the palliative setting.
- Extensive experience in the nutritional management of complex oncology, haematology and palliative patients in the outpatient and the inpatient setting.
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and teaching skills. Including well developed skills in clinical supervision and student teaching and training.
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a specialised multidisciplinary team that provides services to oncology, haematology and palliative patients.
- Experience in providing clinical supervision to dietitians, dietitian assistants and students.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development and experience with initiating and leading quality improvement projects. With professional development and quality projects specific to oncology/ haematology/ palliative care an advantage.
- Current driver’s licence (P2 Licence Acceptable). Willingness to use for work purposes and may include driving long distances across the LHD.
