If you are inspired by delivering for our community, have a desire to grow, and can bring a positive energy to share with your talented colleagues, then you might just find your place with us. **Safety and Wellbeing Team Intro** Here, at City of Whittlesea, we have a dedicated Safety and Wellbeing Team that is focused on helping to mitigate the operational safety risks of the services we provide our community, while also delivering a comprehensive wellbeing program that ensures our staff are supported to be in the best physical and mental shape required for their roles. **Safety Business Partner Intro** In support of the City of Whittlesea’s health and wellbeing aspirations we have dedicated safety business partners who support each of our three main service delivery directorates. This particular role will support our Infrastructure and Environment Directorate that includes our maintenance, capital delivery, asset management and sustainable environment departments. Much of the work this role will be supporting involves technical, trade or outdoor activities that often include contractors. Your primary role will be to assist in mitigating the risk of these associated works by supporting the business in implementing and reviewing operational risk controls.
You will be the conduit between our safety management system and the way work is performed and help to influence safety culture and behaviours on the ground. You will be the first point of call when an incident occurs, or when safety advise is required by one of our managers or supervisors. **The part you will play** As part of the Safety and Wellbeing team you will work closely with our council staff to: * Provide safety advise and monitor the safe delivery of work* Develop relevant safety reports and lead directorate and department safety forums* Support the review and development of safe systems of work* Conduct local risk assessments and support the implementation of operational risk controls* Analayse trends and deliver safety improvement initiatives **Let’s talk about you** You will thrive in this role if you: * Love working and supporting people* Have a passion for safety and enhancing workplace culture* Are a good communicator* Like working in a fun passionate team environment **Why you will love working with us** In addition to the role, we also offer a variety of benefits.
