About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Training Specialist ensuring employees have the knowledge, skills, and confidence to perform safely, effectively, and in compliance with business requirements. The role leads the development and delivery of practical, role-specific learning programs, manages learning systems and processes, and partners with leaders and subject matter experts to build workforce capability and drive operational performance.

Duties

The Training Specialist designs, coordinates, and delivers training programs that build capability across the business. Working closely with leaders and subject matter experts, this role drives a culture of learning by ensuring employees have the knowledge and confidence to perform safely, effectively, and in line with business requirements. The role also supports long-term workforce capability through practical, engaging, and compliant learning solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Learning Systems, Compliance & Reporting

Manage the Learning Management System (LMS), including content updates and user access

Prepare clear reports for leaders on training progress,



risks and areas requiring attention

Track participation and completion rates of all learning activities

Monitor and report on mandatory training compliance

Evaluate learning programs and report on engagement, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI)

Learning Culture & Communication

Champion a culture of continuous learning and professional growth

Communicate training opportunities, learning pathways, and development opportunities to employees and leaders

Collect and act on feedback to improve future training experiences

Build effective relationships with People and Culture leaders, HSEQ, operational managers, department heads, employees, subject matter experts, RTOs, education providers and external training partners

Support the development and rollout of programs for apprentices, trainees, and graduates

Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and leaders to ensure content is practical and relevant

Leadership and Continuous Improvement

Support trainers, specialists, trainees and apprentices to achieve consistent learning outcomes

Promote a culture of continuous learning and ensure employees and leaders understand available training pathways and requirements

Use feedback, training data and reporting insights to improve programs, processes and outcomes

Maintain a focus on effective management, coordination and strategic oversight of training activity

Skills Matrix Ownership

Develop, implement, and maintain the company-wide Skills Matrix





Track technical and behavioral capabilities required by role

Support leaders in assessing current capabilities and identifying skill gaps

Functional Training Design & Delivery

Coordinate structured learning initiatives across the employee lifecycle (onboarding, upskilling, refresher)

Lead and direct training programs and initiatives across the organisation

Identify training needs and ensure training activity aligns with business strategy and operational priorities

Develop strategic training plans and coordinate resources, materials, scheduling and venues to support delivery

Develop or source new programs as required, including safety, conflict resolution and diversity training

Oversee training budgets, monitor expenses and support effective resource allocation

About You

Qualification in Training & Assessment, Human Resources. Trade Qualified will be highly regarded.

Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122) (Desirable)

Minimum 5+ years’ experience in training coordination, learning & development

Proven ability to design and deliver engaging and effective training.

Experience working with training providers (GTO & RTO) and apprentice/ trainee management program.

Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
