Maintenance careers at WA Country Health Service

Position Profile:

We are seeking a suitably experienced person to carry out maintenance, repair and operational requirements of all electrical services at health sites located in Esperance and Norseman.

Area Profile:

The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is the largest country health system in Australia and one of the biggest in the world, providing health services to approximately half a million people, including 45,000 Aboriginal people, over a vast two and a half million square kilometre area. The organisation comprises seven regions, with a strong network of public hospitals, health services and health centres located across rural and remote Western Australia. Our core business is the provision of quality, accessible health services to country WA residents and visitors.

Suitability Requirement 1 Safe, compliant electrical maintenance expertise

Demonstrated ability to provide safe, compliant and reliable electrical maintenance services within complex operational environments, applying sound technical judgement to support the continuity, safety and performance of critical infrastructure.

Suitability Requirement 2 Independent regional service delivery

Demonstrated capacity to work independently across dispersed worksites, effectively prioritising competing maintenance demands, managing workloads and responding appropriately to routine and urgent operational requirements.





Suitability Requirement 3 Safety and compliance focus

Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety, risk management and regulatory compliance, consistently applying safe work practices and identifying potential hazards to minimise risks to patients, staff, contractors and infrastructure.

Suitability Requirement 4 Communication and stakeholder engagement

Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build productive working relationships, provide clear technical advice and maintain effective communication with a diverse range of stakeholders in a customer-focused healthcare environment.

Suitability Requirement 5 Flexibility and regional operational support

Demonstrated flexibility and commitment to regional service delivery, including travelling between sites, participating in on‑call responses and contributing positively to team capability, service improvement and organisational objectives.
