Our client is searching for an experienced Family Law Legal Assistant to also undertake Paralegal responsibilities in the Sydney office of their multi-award-winning law firm. This chance will see you providing all aspects of both administrative and paralegal support to a leading Family Law Partner who is also the Head of the Family Law team. This is hands-on role where you'll be given exposure to sophisticated Private Client matters and the opportunity to become an integral part of a busy practice.

The Work

The matters here are anything but one-dimensional. You'll gain exposure to a fascinating mix of Family Law work for high and ultra-high-net-worth private clients , including:

- Hague Convention matters
- Surrogacy matters
- Complex property and financial settlements
- Matters involving substantial family businesses and asset structures
- Complex parenting disputes

More Than Traditional LA Support

Your responsibilities will include:

- Liaising with clients and external stakeholders with professionalism
- Preparing Costs Agreements and onboarding documentation
- Preparing Briefs to Counsel and Court documents
- Managing diaries,



appointments and key deadlines
- Document and file management
- Conducting conflict and AML searches
- E-billing and general financial administration
- Liaising with clients and other stakeholders throughout matters

You'll be trusted to use your initiative, understand what's happening across files and help keep matters progressing, rather than simply waiting for administrative tasks to land on your desk.

About You

- You'll bringat least 2 years' experience as a Legal Assistant specifically supporting in a Family Law practice, and an understanding of the unique demands that come with working with clients through highly personal and sensitive matters.
- Experience with Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia procedures and documentation will be important, together with strong organisation, communication and document management skills.
- You’ll also be proactive, emotionally intelligent and comfortable communicating directly with clients.
