CamdenCouncil is seeking two experienced and motivated Recreation Planner ProjectOfficers to join our high-performing Sport and Recreation team.
Reportingto the Team Leader Sport and Recreation Planning, these roles are responsiblefor leading the planning, development and scoping of open space, sport andrecreation projects that respond to the needs of our growing community. Youwill play a key role in shaping the future of Camden through the preparation ofplans, strategies and business cases, supported by evidence-based research,community consultation and stakeholder engagement.
Workingacross the organisation and with external partners, you will coordinatemultidisciplinary inputs, manage project scoping and budgets, and ensureprojects are aligned to Council’s strategic objectives and Project ManagementFramework prior to handover for delivery.

- Degree qualifications and relevant experience in Recreation,Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Planning or equivalent related field
- Demonstrated relevant experience in sport and recreation planningand policy development
- Demonstratedexperience in delivering passive and active recreation infrastructure
- Demonstratedexperience in managing community and stakeholder engagement at variouslevels throughout the planning and design process
- Goodanalytical, creative thinking, negotiation, conflict resolution andproblem-solving skills that lead to innovative and effective solutions ina changing environment
- Solid oraland written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to apply EEO, WHS and ethical practice principles and to act with probity at all times
- Current Drivers Licence
- Experiencedelivering projects within a structured project management framework
- Experience in a local government environment
- Knowledge and understanding of legislative and regulatoryframeworks
- Appropriate research, reporting and computer skills
- Demonstrated project and resource management skills
